Thrifty Thursday: Top Button + Vibrant Lips

On Instagram I have seen quite a few little challenges you can participate in...I know on "Photo a day" they give you a theme and then you get creative with that theme. They also have Coast to Coast challenge that is fashion relatable. I have never participated but today's challenge seemed really simple so I thought...What the heck?!

The challenge was:
Top Button + Vibrant Lips

These are two of my favorite lipsticks...
Red is Mac Matte "Ruby Woo"
Pink is Mac Sheen Supreme "Insanely It" (Which in person looks A LOT brighter)

Purple shirt- Urban Outfitters via DE  $10
Yellow Shirt-Thrifted (retro) $3

I really think that CtoCC  has inspired me. I never wear my shirts with the top button buttoned but I sure like the look!

 Pants-TJ Maxx $16
Jacket- Thrifted $12
Boots-Thrifted $4.50

I know this outfit is super similar to THIS post but I can't get enough of this jacket! And I don't think there is anything wrong with mixing and matching in a way I know an outfit is flattering.

Target and Pizza

Preston and I spent the afternoon together.

Went to Target and got some pizza for an early dinner....

Jeans-H&M  Shirt-Anthropologie via DE   Sweater-Thrifted   Moccasins- Secondhand (Minnetonka)

This sweater is a thrifted closet treasure of mine. I found it in the mens section of a little hole in the wall thrift store. The kind of thrift store most people don't care to go in.... I love this thrift store cuz although they don't have much, they have thrift store prices! They list all their women's shirts and sweaters anywhere from $1-2 and the mens are around the same. I have bought a few fun things from there that I have been so happy with. This sweater being the very top!

If you follow me on instagram (@runstylerun) you will remember these Mexican blankets...

I got them at that same store...$3 a piece.

So I have had a handful of people contact me asking where I thrift, when the best time to go is, and secrets to finding the "treasured goods." I decided I would do a whole post dedicated to all of those things. So...If anyone has any questions, requests, specific things they'd like to know, etc. Please either email me or message me below!

Shop Shopping

All this snow on the ground happened in just a few hours last night... It's pretty but I'm ready for spring already!

So...I have had a few people tell me that I should have an etsy shop because I am pretty good at finding great things while thrifting. I think it would be fun so in the near future that is my plan!! I appreciate those who have supported me and helped me get the confidence to do it! I need to compile a few things. I think I will mainly stick with shoes in my shop because I love shoe shopping. So I figured I'd go shopping today. Mostly just to look around and get my eye on a few things for my shop. (and always of course for myself as well...)

I love these two pair of Justin cowboy boots! The white ones are so unique!

I have had my eye on them every time I go into this store! What do you think? They're velvet retro Liz Claibourne.

I kinda have a thing for velvet lately! I loved this shirt. Its different, a great color and I love the lace detail around the colar.

These are a few other things that I liked but I was trying to be good so I didn't buy them! I figure if I have "didn't buy" remorse, I will go back. Haha. Anyone else get "didn't buy" remorse? Sometimes I'm grateful I waited cuz the next day I think, "What was I thinking?"

These are the two things I did buy. Straw hat I can't wait to pair with a bathingsuit this summer and Leather Minnetonka flats that aren't my size. I bought them for my mom but they were too small. Now they are going to one of my instagram friends!

Shirt- Anthropologie via DE   Jeans-Bullhead via DE   Socks-F21   Boots-Thrifted (Timberland)

Retro Goodness

I recently bought this fun retro blouse at a super ghetto hole in the wall thrift store for $0.50....Thats right...less, than $1.  I thought I would share a couple ways I would wear it!  Both ways might I add consist of thrifted pleather goodness...

Look #1:
Skirt- Thrifted   Shirt-Thrifted   Boots-Thrifted

Look #2:
Same shirt   Jacket-Thrifted   Jeans-True Religion via DE   Boots-Thrifted
Watch-DKNY via Nordstrom Rack   Rings-Thrifted

How was your Sunday? I of course have to give a little "Sunday inspiration" to help you start your week off right...help me start it off right as well. The inspiration comes from one of my favorite religious songs called "Blessings" by Laura Story. Go look it up...The words and music are beautiful!

"What if my greatest disappointments or the aching of this life
Is the revealing of a greater thirst this world can't satisfy?
What if trials of this life
The rain, the storms, the hardest nights
Are His mercies in disguise?"

Don't ever feel like God abandons you. In the hardships of our lives, we have to endure and know that God loves us and trusts us enough to learn to overcome those trials....

Super Score

Jeans and sweater-H&M   Button down- Thrifted   Mules- Thrifted (Frye)

This past week the consignment shop I like to go to was having everything half off (besides a couple color tags) These fryes were marked $35 but I got them for $15. Score! I didn't know if I liked them but when I tried them on, I thought they were super cute! I especially love the color of the leather...Super score...

Thrifty Thursday

Jeans- J Brand via EBay $25 (originally $218)
Shirt- Old Navy $5
Sweater- Thrifted $3 (retro)
Clogs-Thrifted $3 (leather and vintage)
Scarf- TJ Maxx $10
Hat-Gap $20
Purse-AE $17

Wow...There is a lot goin on in this outfit. I got a 70's hippy/boho vibe going on....and I like it. Take me back...
So since we're going back to the 70's, here's a quote from John Lennon:

"You don't need anybody to tell you who you are or what you are. You are what you are!"

Well said...

Sometimes Simple is Better

Jeans-Thrifted   T-Shirt- Thrifted   Moccasins- Thrifted (Minnetonka)

"It is the sweet, simple things of life which are the real ones after all."

Antique Shop: Great Junk!

So I always drive by this little antique shop but I had never been inside! I got off work early today so I decided to give it a try. I went in without my purse so I wasn't tempted to buy anything. I just wanted to look around. It's always fun searching for fun little treasures even just to see them.

An older woman owns the store. She said she had had it for about 7 years here in Idaho and before she had a store in California. She was in her late 70's I would say. She told me everything was just things she had collected over the years. She said she especially loved treasures from the 50's era. I would have to agree.... I'm not gonna lie, some of it was junk, the store wasn't very clean, but she really had some neat stuff. Thats why most of the time as thrifters we say we "hunt" because you literally dig through the junk to find the treasures!

I so badly want a Navaho blanket. I love these 2! Especially the bottom one. They were quite pricey.

Phone Diaries: Weekend Getaway

Quick...I mean so quick I blinked and it was over...Utah trip.

Decided for a little change...crazy what cutting bangs can do to ones face. It makes me hair look completely different!!

 My beautiful mom.

Got to play with these girls. We went to a piano club but didn't end up staying because our reservation wasn't saved...and we were hungry. We plan on going next time I go down. It seemed fun!  But we got cool stamps!
We went to dinner and then sat in the hot tub...

Church was great. Our RS teacher challenged all of us to remember to do things that will help strengthen us spiritually throughout the week and gave us a string to "remember." I thought it was a fun idea and motivating to be better.

Later...we stopped by Grandma and Grandpa's to visit before we headed home.
I thought I would share some of my favorite things about their house. I have so many memories here...

Grandpa told me that he bought this chandelier for him Mom and Dad and when they died he inherited it. It is over 60 years old. Isn't it gorgeous? Honestly, their house has been decorated the same for as long as I can remember. The only thing that has changed is the carpet only because the kids all insisted they get new carpet. I love everything about their house....It takes me back.....

This was my grandma on her wedding day!

Here is my sweet grandma today. Still as beautiful as ever...

Discovered this old picture...the one second on the left is my momma.

On the right is Grandpa's cabin... The next few pictures are whats inside. It is seriously the coolest little place.

For those of you who know me know I love native American/western type/vintage style and decor. I LOVE everything about this little cabin and it's little treasures.

I wish the weekends wouldn't go by so fast....
