Currently Crushing

It's so crazy how when seasons change, your mind set for inspiration changes. Don't get me wrong...I'm still so attracted to chunky sweaters and boots. This is actually the time I LOVE to purchase those items because they're all on sale and in abundance. Thrift stores are chocked full of perfect sweaters and boots. But I thought I would share items I'm dreaming about this season...

This look pretty much sums it all up. Summery hats, white tops, bell bottoms, and wedges.

Clogs and Haurache sandals... Can I have a pair in every color and style?

These pants though?? I'm loving the high waisted, pajama type pants. So fun and flattering but best of all looks so comfy!

Lets just say Madewell does everything right. These overalls, the fun boho top, and cognac sandals...This whole look I crush on.

Dresses over jeans...and slouchy large bags.

Just dressses in general! Embroidered, moo moos, long, short, white, short sleeve, long sleeve, floral (My eye is drawn to anything floral lately) vintage inspired, or better yet, vintage... I snatched a few from my grandmas closet that I can't wait to share.

Nena and Co. Need I say more about their perfect bags??

Back to my Roots

Vintage sweater, UO high-waisted jeans, thrifted Birkenstocks, Target hat, Rayban sunnies

 Vintage jacket and jewelry

You may notice my hair is different. I've decided to go back to my original roots. I'm not even quite sure what that color is so we will see if we got it right here in a couple months hehe. It will be nice to just let it be and hopefully  it will become more healthy.

Oh man... This past week has been so good. I'm back in Salt Lake. I really really enjoyed being in Idaho close to my family.

Today I was able to see family I haven't seen in a while! Aunts and Uncles, a few cousins...We are getting my grandparents house all cleaned out and ready to sell. That has not been an easy task considering they have lived their for over 35 years. We have been literally going through 100+ years of treasures! Stepping back into time and memories that have been away for a while. It has been an emotional rollercoaster but something that has been necessary. I will have to share soon some of the amazing treasures I was able to keep for myself.

Sunday Inspiration//Feliz Páscoa

“And now, after the many testimonies which have been given of him, this is the testimony, last of all, which we give of him: That he lives!"

"...He lives, he lives, who once was dead.
He lives, my ever-living Head.
He lives to bless me with his love.
He lives to plead for me above.
He lives my hungry soul to feed.
He lives to bless in time of need.
......Oh, sweet the joy this sentence gives:
"I know that my Redeemer lives!"
Easter is such a special time to reflect and remember the life and resurrection of our Savior Jesus Christ. To know that He lived and died for us and lived again. He was the perfect example of what we should all strive to be in our lives. I am so grateful for that example and for the comfort I receive in knowing that we can be forgiven for our sins because of what the Savior did...Because He lived. That makes me beyond happy... Gives my life purpose.

I am me because of Him and what I strive to live like to please my Heavenly Father is because of Him... I love knowing that. Knowing that when I feel alone, I'm not alone. He is there. He is walking along side me. He often carries me...Just as He did in his mortal life, He does now...

I have to share the lyrics to one of my very favorite primary children songs "He sent His Son"...The words are true through and through and absolutely beautiful:

"How could the Father tell the world of love and tenderness?
He sent his Son, a newborn babe, with peace and holiness.
How could the Father show the world the pathway we should go?
He sent his Son to walk with men on earth, that we may know.
How could the Father tell the world of sacrifice, of death?
He sent his Son to die for us and rise with living breath.
What does the Father ask of us? What do the scriptures say?
Have faith, have hope, live like his Son, help others on their way.
What does he ask? Live like his Son."

Listen to it
sung by the Mormon Tabernacle Choir.
And then listen to it again. So beautiful..Brought the best kind of tears to my eyes.

"...He is risen..."

Gray Day

Wow...It went from a lovely sunny day yesterday to the grayest of gray days today.... That's Idaho for you. Bi-polar weather that can't make up its mind.

I had such a good day though. I got to see my niece and a couple of my nephews. I spent time with my brother and dad. I just love my family to pieces!

My oldest nephew Preston has been learning how to play the guitar this year so tonight we got to hear him at a restaurant in town.  He even had a solo...Sang and played "House of the Rising Sun" and I could not have been more proud of him! Especially because he only started learning 4-5 months ago!

Because I'm blog/internet challenged and have no idea how to load a video here...I posted a little snippet on my old instagram which I still keep active (it's hard to let go of things you consider kinda a journal!) @blonde_brandi if you want to hear him! He is to die for cute!!

And of course....Here is what I wore to match this gray cold day... I always share, you know, whether you like it or not. Hehe..

Vintage Pendleton Hat, F21 high waisted skinnies, Gap sweater, Madewell boots

Tonight...we were pulling up close to the restaurant and got stuck at the light so my dad tells us to jump out of the truck and head in...So we do, I get out, my hat flies right off my head in the wind and of course we are right next to a creek... My hat just flutters its way down down down into the water. I was ready to run across the busy street to catch it, thinking it was surely floating further and further away from me but realized it had actually not gone into the water but just on the bank! I seriously ran and climbed down almost under the bridge-- dirt, mud, spider webs included and saved my hat...Thank goodness. (You know my affinity for hats. Especially my collection. It hasn't come easily. haha) I would have cried. Is that sad? Meanwhile, my dad is parking the car worried that I had maybe fall in the ditch so he goes running to the creek unbeknown to him I was already in the restaurant. Me safe. Hat safe. All ready ready to hear some good tunes and eat steak. Story over...

Let's Talk Mascara

I have never been an expert on makeup. To be honest, I usually use the drug store stuff and don't change up my daily routine EVER.  Buttttt...That being said, I still LOVE makeup. I love buying new makeup. I love reading makeup blogs and watching tutorials. Recently I have gotten more into Mary Kay product and LOVE their concealers and foundations especially.  Since moving I now have more access to Sephora or Mac and have splurged a bit on a few items.  And I'm a true believer that makeup can make or break a face.

But today I'm are not just talking makeup, I'm getting to the nitty gritty on MASCARAAAAA......

Wearing eyelashes or getting eye lash extensions aren't really a new thing but have become especially trendy the past year or so. I am so a fan of eye lashes. Every time I wear them, never fails, someone compliments me on my eyes! Which sometimes makes me sad because I feel like I'm falsely representing my face...haha. Plus, it gets so expensive! I try to make them last as long as I can but often one pair can only go about 4 wears. And lets not even get started on eye lash extensions. Although they're absolutely amazing....they can sure be pricy!

I got to see my cousin Ashley a couple months ago and as I complained about my fake eyelashes she mentioned Younique 3D Fiberlash Mascara. How had I not heard of it yet?? haha...She recommended I try it because she really really liked it! She said it was like eye lashes in a bottle...And was only $30. I was immediately excited to get my hands on some! Luckily, I came in contact with a sweet girl named Kelsi who sells it to give some a try!

^^This photo is the very first day I used it. I was so excited I had to send a photo to Kelsi. I also mentioned to her about how no matter what angle I took the photo, it was not flattering... Talk about getting up close and personal. haha...

I waited a few weeks to write this post on it because I really wanted to know if I liked it or not. I wanted to write a real, honest to goodness review.  I am happy to say I have been very impressed with Younique.

My natural eyelashes are pretty pathetic. They're short, straight, and blonde. Lemme just show you.....

As you can see, while using a microscope, they are there! But they need a lot of help...

This is one eye with 2 coats and what impresses me the most is how they even curl up! I am a religious user of an eyelash curler for not only before I apply mascara but for after, heated up for a little more curl...And I don't need to use one with Younique! At all...

There you have it...Natural looking LONG lashes! I am definitely not a makeup gurue and to be honest I took these photos myself...So no special treatment here but a girl getting ready in the morning with a few photos in between.  But I like it. And I'm thinking you will too!

It comes with a tube of the transplanting gel and tube of lash fibers... The gel goes on like regular black mascara. Right after the gel you apply the lash fibers then immediately follow with the gel again to set the fibers...I repeat the process 2-3 times until I get the look I want. I also do one eye at a time. They do say to use your own mascara first then apply the fiber lash mascara but I found I liked the look better just using it on its own. It will probably just depend on the preference of each person but try it!-----Buy the Moodstruck 3D fiber lash mascara HERE then let me know what you think!!

Vintage for Sale! Vintage for Sale!

Have I mentioned to you how much I love vintage?? I LOVE antiques and vintage treasures. I love to know and imagine that each item has a story behind it. I love looking at them thinking about what it was like in their era. I love adding new vintage pieces to my own wardrobe and I find WAY too much so that is why I started Stylish Treasures on instagram in the first place.

Today I listed a whole bunch of vintage items in my shop... I would love to make them available to anyone who may be interested or doesn't have instagram so I thought I would share a few of my favorites here! If any of these might interest you, email me and I can give you more details!

Close up on some of the vintage fabrics.... SWOON!

These are a vintage floral gaucho pant. They're in amazing condition. Circa 1980's. Tag says fits s/m/l but I think will be best for size small/medium. Such a fun piece for summer! They're 100% polyester.

Vintage secretaries dress. Buttons on the top. No tag. No size listed but in my opinion fits like an XL.
Measurements laying flat:
19.5" from armpit to armpit
18" waist
42.5" from top of shoulder to bottom

This one is my favorite! Vintage floral dress. Buttons up top. Comes with a belt. Has pockets on sides and one on the chest. Excellent condition. Perfect summer dress! No size listed but fits like a 6/8. I'm a size 4/6 and I really like how it fits me although it does fit slightly big. The colors are beautiful!

Another lovely floral vintage dress. Buttons down the top and has a tie at chest. Super soft light fabric for summer. There is no size listed but fits like an 8 in my opinion. I like how it fits me but does fit a little big. Says it's petite but as you can see, I'm not petite and it fits me normal.

Last one is a circa 1970's maxi dress. Amazing condition. Fabric is soft and gorgeous. Red and white. The inside sewing of the left arm at the wrist is slightly come undone but SUPER easy fix. Fits like a large (no size on tag)

I am happy to take any measurements, share more photos, and answer questions if anyone is interested in any of these treasures. Email me with any inquiries shopstylishtreasures@gmail.com.

I can send easy invoices through paypal.

Only shipping to U.S. and Canada. Shipping price will depend on location.

Search on instagram @stylish_treasures to see the other items available! I still have some amazing vintage shoes that haven't been snatched up yet.(which somewhat surprises me! Vintage to me means "one of a kind"!)

JCrew top, Anthropologie jeans, Minnetonka moccasins, Vintage Pendleton hat, RayBan sunnies

Stopped by the Holbrook house today...

Took an obligatory selfie in the backyard because that tree behind me is blossoming and the tree in front of me is casting the perfect shadow. It was the absolute most gorgeous day in Salt Lake City!

The house isn't the same without grandpa and grandma there.....but knowing they're getting the care they need makes me so happy.

Minimal outfit for a few errands and a road trip! I'm now in Idaho for a long weekend. Time with my family, getting my hair done, orthodontist appointment (I know, so exciting!) and visiting my favorite thrift stores will be on the agenda.

I stopped in Pocatello on my way home to a few thrift stores and pretty much feel like I hit the jackpot.

Found this fun vintage dress among a WHOLE bunch more treasures...Shoes, dresses, short sleeved sweaters. Perfect Spring/Summer attire. A lot of it I will be selling on my instagram shop @stylish_treasures. It goes fast so make sure you check out the amazing goodies I have throughout the week!

What She Wears this month was definitely one of my favorites. I love "florals" especially this season. I enjoyed seeing everyone's gorgeous renditions. I chose to share Kylie in the Sky

I love how Kylie mixed two different florals together...It just works! And those gorgeous wedges?? Totally a look I would love to wear.

I hope you'll join us next month! We link up the first Tuesday in May!
