A Visitor

Thrifted Free People top, Free People jeans, thrifted and vintage Dooney and Bourke bag, Frye oxfords, EBay hat.

Although he's not technically here just to visit me (I can pretend though) my nephew is in town! He'll be here for a few days so I was privileged to take him to lunch today and let me just say.... I thoroughly enjoyed his company. He'll be 15 soon and goodness me he is definitely the cutest and sweetest 15 year old I have ever known. I am so grateful for our fun relationship. Love every minute I have with him.

Sunflower Power

Aren't these pants from White Plum so fun?? I styled another piece from their website HERE where I also shared a discount code which is still good until 8/5. So....make sure you take a peek at their fun selection of vintage inspired pieces and use the discount code "runstylerun20" at checkout for 20% off your entire purchase.

Thank you to the amazing Sadie Photography for the photos. I'm lucky enough to work with this cute lady and let me just say...She is incredibly talented behind the camera. We had our little mini session then after we went and stuffed ourselves full of Bruges waffles and fries. Two things you need when you come to Salt Lake: 1-Have Sadie take your photos and 2-try Bruges Waffles. You won't be disappointed.

I can't believe these are the last few days of July. The summer is flying by. It has definitely been a good one for me though and I have a lot to look forward to in August including a trip to California with my friends! Can't wait...

PS my little sister sent me this photo from the Idaho boonies the other day. I thought it was quite fitting considering my pants are covered in sunflowers. I couldn't help but smile and be happy when I saw this picture. Gosh, sunflowers sure are pretty. Bright, big, and beautiful. Hope it can make you smile and feel a little happier today too...

Retro Shades

When I wear these shades from Kameleonz I can't help but think of summer and the beach boys. Two very happy vibed subjects. Their whole slogan is "lifes a beach" which I totally love. Do you have a favorite beach boys song? Mine would definitely have to be "Good Vibrations." I remember it clearly. 1st grade. A little boy named Madison would sing to me often the line "I...I love the colorful clothes she wears.." (except he would say 'you'...) "and the way the sunlight plays upon your hair." I think of him even to this day whenever I hear that song. haha. Oh kid crushes...

These are the Sahara triple set which I have been sooo happy with. They're polarized and UV400 which makes them the must have summer sunnies in my opinion!!  I love the neutral brown color of these ones. It's also fun because the arms are interchangeable for the chance to add a pop of different color.

Good quality, great price, and super fun retro vibe.

Check out their website HERE and use code "brandi" for 20% off your entire purchase!

Daisies and Polkadots

Vintage dress, polkadot denim from Walmart, (yep!) Minnetonka moccasins, Madewell bag.

I got to spend some time with my Dad today..... He's the greatest. I really mean it too.

Here's a little "quote of the day" then I'll send you on your merry way. Hashtag smiley face.

"The secret of being happy is accepting where you are in life and making the most out of everyday."

Use your time wisely, smile, be happy, love, live, breath in, and make today wonderful. You can do it.

Dresses and Denim

White Plum tunic, (psssttt on sale right now..) Joes jeans, Lotta clogs, JCrew bracelet, vintage watch

Don't overlook a dress just because it may be a little too short by itself... Just add your favorite pair of jeans and VUALAAA....

This one is from White Plum and I love it!

Head on over to their website and use the code "runstylerun20" for 20% off your entire purchase! (Code only good until 8/5)  The tunic dress I'm wearing is on sale, marked down almost half off and with that extra 20% off will be just a little over $20. It is the perfect summer piece. Has lovely embroidered detail, is super lightweight, and fyi runs true to size. I also love THIS, THIS, THIS, THESE, anddddd THESE just to name a few. EEEEE....I'll just take it all, thank you. hehe

Have a lovely week friends.

A Few Things

Wow...This week flew by. Thought I would share a few things that just plain made me happy.

I was gone a whole week and with our schedules completely different, I rarely ever see my roommates....So, I was so happy to be able to spend some time with my bestie Ashley. (PS we missed you McCall!)

Thoroughly sifted through Albion Fit at City Creek. I am so happy and excited to be working with them in the near future!

Can't wait to share what I got!

Discovered on a random drive by a tiny vintage shop with a fun assortment of vintage lovelies at affordable prices! Two things make me very happy...shopping and vintage. Put them together and I'm in heaven.  If you're in the Salt Lake area and you like vintage....You will love this quaint little shop!

My find at Luna Dust Vintage. Perfect white embroidered top. Oh the possibilites.

The shop owner humbly obliged to me taking her photo...hehe. It's just what I do, people.

Climbed up Ensign Peak for the first time ever! Seeing the view of the city made me happy.

Lastly is this little book. "One Good Deed a Day." Obviously you don't need a book to tell you what you should and shouldn't do. But it sure is nice to have a little reminder to do things you may not ordinarily do. I've been really trying to be grateful and notice the little things. Live the little things. Especially be aware of those around me. What I could do better to make them happy. Because happy people tend to also make me happy. It's a wonderful circle that I think we could all be better at working on. So yeah...Let's all try to focus on one good deed a day. Being more positive, motivating, and happy! It gives life more meaning.

Cambie Design Throw

I am so happy today to share this beautiful Peruvian throw and introduce to you Cambie Design. I love the vision this company has for beauty and quality. I was immediately in awe of their amazing selection and craftsmanship.  The owner Camille travels frequently to Peru where her gorgeous blankets are made. In their about section on their website, you'll find that they strive to engage in the personality and esthetics of each and every person they work with. Their products are incredibly affordable for the quality they give. Visit their website HERE to see all the lovely throws. This one is going with me everywhere. To the park this summer, road trips, and at the end of the day, the best part is it will sit perfectly on the end of my bed. It matches my decor perfectly.

It's Hot....

....And that's really all. Except also to share my beautiful new Cambie Design blanket and Sahara Kameleonz shades. Perfect accessories for these hot summer days we've been having....

This is just a preview...but if you do check out Kameleonz website, use code "BRANDI" for 20% off your purchase.

It Happened

Joes jeans, Madewell sandals, Madewell tee (I now own in 5 colors...It's that perfect)  Nena and Co bag, Free People hat

Last week I had my car broken into...They took an overnight bag full of a whole slew of my treasures. Obviously it's just "stuff" but I felt quite violated and sad to see some of my favorite pieces go. I also felt sad to think they just got away with it too. The reason I bring it up though...These will be the last photos you'll see my cute sandals and all the jewelry I'm wearing...My everyday rings I always wore including one I kept from my grandma because unfortunately they were all in my bag. Lesson learned. Don't leave a bag in plain view in your car. Even if it's in the middle of the day. Sad you can't trust anyone anymore it seems. The world is a wicked place. As much as it all meant to me, they were probably disappointed by the lack of $$ that they probably hoped to find. I have beat myself up about it a lot the past week but am finally wrapping my head around the fact that 1-it happened and 2-theres nothing I can do about it now except just let it go.

Thanks to Samantha Broderick Photography for the lovely photos. If you're in the Salt Lake area you need to contact her. She is an incredibly talented lifestyle photographer I can't say enough good things about. This is my 4th session with her (see THIS POST, THIS ONE, and also OUR FIRST ONE HERE.) I am so grateful for her sweet spirit and I look forward to continue to work with her.
