Wanna Be Do Gooder Here

Double sided plaid blanket scarf and the most comfy amazing leather moccasin boots ever ever. I think I'll just go take a nap in this.

This amazing scarf from Bungalow 123 is only $32 and so worth every penny. Even better use code 'runstylerun' for 15% off! Get one before they sell out. (Because I promise you they will...) You'll love it I promise.

My boots are another story. A good one. They're from a small company called Buyamba whos tag line is "helping souls in need." The brand was created to help people in need and I was absolutely touched by that. Read more of their lovely story HERE. I hope you know this about me...And if you don't, you'll know it now. I want to help make a difference. I want to make small daily differences in the world. Maybe I'll only effect one person but you know what? I'm happy it will be that one person. Cuz I do know one thing....that one person knows other people. We don't know what good we can do unless we just do it! "Better by far to be good and courageous and bold and to make a difference. Not change the world exactly, but the bit around you." -David Nicholls. Being a fashion blogger as well,  I love to come across a company thats foundation is to help! There is so much sadness, poverty, and suffering in the world...We can look for things in our daily life to help better that even if it's something like spending a little more on a beautifully crafted unique pair of shoes that are made to help create jobs. And guys... EVERY time I wear these boots,  male or female, I get compliments. I'm so happy to be able to share with them where I got them and the story behind this company.

Edgy yet Feminine

Edgy yet feminine, yeah?
 Edgy yet classy.
Edgy yet clean...
Simple simple simple with an element of surprise.
I'm edgy but try to keep it age appropriate.
I think that defines my style pretty well what do you think?

Fitness Routine with Next Swimwear

As a runner, I am always on the hunt for clothes that are comfortable, breathable, and stay where they're supposed to. There is nothing I hate more than to have to stop to pull my pants up while I'm running. I also love work out clothes that can be versatile. Ones that can be worn all year round. Layered in the winter and easy to peel off during the summer. I am excited for the opportunity to team up with Swim Spot to share some of their Next Swimwear line! I have been nothing but pleased with everything that I have worn from them. Super comfy and I love that I could wear their pants and work out bra to the lake, up in the mountains for a hike, out for a run, or to a yoga class!! (Or to the grocery store, lets be honest..hehe) The sports bra doubles as a swimsuit top! A top that you can wear as an athlete running, biking, swimming, or wake boarding. Also easy to just wear for a day at the beach or pool to lay out and have fun!! Best of it all is it's designed especially for these kind of activities. THE BEST EVER in my opinion.
As for my workout routine..... I don't really love to lift weights. I prefer doing body weight exercises like plank, pushups, situps, dips, wall-sits, lunges, squats, etc. I demonstrated the different planks I love above. I usually hold for a minute or longer in each position and try for 3 sets. Below is the most challenging on the side plank. I love these moves for ab strength and arm definition.
I run 3-5 miles 2-3 times a week and walk as much as I can everywhere I go!! As the warmer weather comes, I run 4-5 times a week. Oh I can't wait for those days!!

What are some of your favorite and most beneficial workouts you like to do? And if you're just starting....Get on it!! Lets do this! Lets get healthy and motivated and find that energy during these harder months. It helps to get yourself some new workout gear and make a plan. I have one more post coming soon with Swim Spot where I will be sharing my started plan and some goals to a healthier me! I hope you'll join me!!

Sunday Style and Inspiration

I found this amazing circa 1970's dress at an estate sale this summer. It has sat in my closet until recently because as you can see, it wasn't a summer dress, so it got tucked tight in the back. I grabbed a handful of dresses at this estate sale that all fit me perfectly. The fact that they all fit in every way even down to the length was quite miraculous.. And in such amazing condition. I always love looking through the clothes at estate sales because that's what they price the cheapest!!! I won't even tell you how much I paid for this dress but lets just say, I didn't have to think twice about it.
Have you ever been estate saling? (I kinda made that name for it up, but you know what I mean...) If so what's your favorite thing you've ever found at one?? If you haven't ever been you should give it a shot! It's a little weird the thought of it, but I always figure it is only helping the families that need to have them!

And because it's Sunday...here is a little inspiration to brighten your day and help start your week off right.

"The happiest people I know are not those who find their golden ticket; they are those who, in pursuit of worthy goals, discover and treasure the beauty and sweetness of everyday moments." --Dieter F. Uchtdorf

Meet my "Go To"

What do you mostly gravitate to in your closet lately? I find myself always grabbing for my leather jackets. And because of that.... I am currently in search of the perfect brown one so if you have any suggestions, I am all ears!!

Outfit details:
Madewell leather jacket, JCrew Denim, Gap sweater, Madewell oxfords, vintage Coach bag, Wood Keeps and Christina Nicole necklaces.

I thrifted these Nike's BRAND NEW, I questioned them at first but the minute I put them on I knew they needed a name because they were that cool. I'm not a weirdo, I don't name my shoes. But somehow I started calling them Goldies and I think I'll stick with it. Meet my Goldies. They're here to stay. hehe. For those who have inquired about them on my instagram, I found a link to a site that has them available below! Also you could try searching EBay for gold Nike Dunk High Top Sneakers.

My scarf is another Maeberry Vintage find. Rachael, one of the owners, took these photos for me! She has a hidden photography talent. hehe. I would just suggest going and visiting their store. I love their handpicked vintage items.

A Journey through the Eras

I think by now you all know I love love thrift shopping. hehe. To help keep that love of going each week in check and not having clothes bursting out my bedroom door, I did the whole Ebay selling. Then Instagram came around and I got to starting an "instagram shop." Such a funny thing to call it but it has been so much fun for me this past couple years I've done it!! I've loved it, sent so many treasures all over the country (and out of the country), and have become acquainted with so many amazing people! This week I decided to style a few pair of shoes I have for sale! And when I say style I mean pair it with a simple tee and jeans. My "go to." It's cool how a pair of shoes can switch up a look though. All shoes are available in my shop @stylish_treasures.
Ready for a little journey through some fun eras?
I'd say these are totally 70's inspired! Guatemalan made leather moccasins.
On to the 1980's with some retro Reeboks. These are seriously awesome.
We'll finish with the 1990's...where the vintage cut off is if you're being politically correct....Some Dr. Martens themselves. Believe it or not these babies are making a comeback.

Find my shop on instagram @stylish_treasures. There are a ton more amazing items still available or feel free to email me for things you may be looking for. I love the thrill of the find!!
