Lipstick Controversy

I have always been the type that is willing to spend a little more money on something if I know it's better than buying something cheaper that won't last as long.  Like I am always going to the MAC store when I go to Salt Lake because I like their makeup. It is a little more pricey but I feel its worth it because I always love it. But...is it really better?  Honestly, I know that a purse from Coach is better quality than a purse from Walmart. You're getting your money's worth. But is buying lipstick from Mac better than buying the NYC or Wet and Wild?
So let me explain why I am doing all this rambling. There is a lady that comes in for therapy at my work who is always wearing lipstick. She comes in often and I feel bad because I'm always lusting after her lip color....hahah. (that may have been a slight over exaggeration)  One day she had on the perfect raspberry color that I have been wanting. It was so so pretty and guess what she told me the brand was....Wet and Wild. So...I went to Walmart today and decided to experiment.

They didn't have the Wet and Wild brand at the Walmart I went to so I decided to pick a few of the brand NYC. These four colors cost me $7 TOTAL. Honestly, no matter what lipstick I have bought in the past....I always return to MAC.  I love how it looks, I love how it lasts, and I've found it's been worth every penny I've spent on it. I'm not gonna lie though...If I can find lipstick that costs $1-$2 and its awesome, I wouldn't complain.

I'd love to hear your thoughts!! Also any advice, brands you've liked, good colors for fall....let me know!!

For All Eternity

I said that I would share some wedding photos from Jenelle and Jeff's wedding! There are quite a few, haha.....hey, it was hard enough to decide which ones to share!

First we had the brunch at Lindsey Gardens.

Jenelle and her sister sang a song to Jeff in Portuguese. I absolutely loved the words.
Como e grande meu amor por voce.

Yes, I spoke a few words...

They were married in the Beautiful Salt Lake Temple..

I love this picture because it is their personalities in a nutshell...

Then we went to the reception at the most gorgeous barn...

The reception was gorgeous. Tons of little DIY cuteness and vintage goodness.

And of course ended the evening with dancing.

Jenelle and I met in Brazil and I couldn't be more blessed to know her and have her in my life.  She will forever be one of my greatest and closest friends. We share so many wonderful memories together and I was so glad to spend this most special day of hers with her and her new hubs Jeff. Congrats to them both!!

Magical Powers

Jeans- True Religion via DownEast    Top- C/O Sugarlips   Flats- BCBG via TJ Maxx  Necklace-Gift from McCall 4 years ago :)    Sunglasses- H&M
I just got this top this past week from Sugarlips. I love their selection and they've got some cute things coming out for Fall!! I also absolutely love Scos Regal Blouse. Go check it out!!

Ok...so please don't look closely, but I went to the dentist today and my face was still numb. So hence the no smiles, half smiles, and hidden face. Oh the dentist...you know, I don't quite mind it. They give you nice little headphones and a television to watch (I turned it on That 70's Show) so you can try to tune out the drilling and pulling...It helped. Also the dentist is always friendly and his helpers are gentle and nice...Plus at the end I got a treat for being a good girl.

It may just possess magical powers!!
I tried it on my dog...

It got him to sit!!!  Forrrr.....about a minute and then he jumped on me because he wanted it. Also tried it on my homework but it's still not done. Oh well...I would say it's still pretty cool. I am brave and only tensed up a few times...So I'd say I deserved the non magical but can pretend its magical wand.

Change of Lifestyle

Homework...I can't quite decide where I want to do it! This is where I ended up yesterday...everything spread out all over the place....it helps me to find what I need better. haha. Starting school has brought on some new changes. Change has always been a struggle for me. I like it mostly, but I guess it depends on what it is. School started this past week. Welcome to my life for the next 4 months. It isn't easy. College is hard. I don't know if it comes easier for some and harder for others...but I find it hard. . It's hard to see an end in sight.  I was getting a little discouraged yesterday. Life is good, don't get me wrong, but it's hard to keep up sometimes. It's hard to find balance. I tend to lose myself. And lately, it's been different.  I just haven't been feeling at my best! I haven't made time to work out so I've been feeling sluggish. My face has been looking terrible and the way I've been eating hasn't helped either. Yesterday I was seriously feeling beaten down. Could have been the pancakes I had for breakfast or the little pizza I had for dinner...oh jeez...did I just admit that? So I turned to my friend Jenelle for a little motivation. She is a super healthy eater. She's has a lot of allergies to foods and so she's taken to a vegan lifestyle. She gave some starter tips HERE.  I don't think I could go 100% vegan because I like eggs, milk, and meat although I don't eat a whole lot of meat. But I've decided I'm  going to incorporate a lot of what she is doing into my food life. Because it is that, I literally have a life for food. But this is not going to be a diet. I can't say diet. Jenelle says, "it's not a diet, it's a lifestyle change." haha.  Jenelle is following The Forks over Knives diet and I have gotten some really great ideas from it.  I like how it consists of mostly whole foods. It cuts out the refined sugars, refined flours, and processed foods which is really what my focus is going to be. It incorporates LOTS of fruits and vegetables. I actually feel excited to feel good!! She will be posting lots of recipes on Her BLOG which I am excited for.
So here is my goal....and I'm sticking to it...I'm going to work out, I'm going to keep up on my homework, I'm going to eat healthy, I'm going to go out with my friends, I'm going to be happy no matter what,  I'm going to hang out with my family, I'm going to learn something,  I'm going to keep up with my church responsibilities...I am GOING to have balance.  If anyone else has advice for me...Please, I'm all ears.

Back to School

Jeans-  H&M    Shirt- Forever21 (borrowed)   Loafers- Thrifted   Watch- Michael Korrs  Bracelet- Thrifted

Here I am....Back in Rexburg. Back to school. Back to the grind. I'm just hoping that I can keep up this semester!  And yes, that is McDonald's behind me. McCall and I met up briefly after my evening class. After I ate my 95 cent hamburger and McCall had her chicken nuggets...we discussed how we need to eat better and workout more. I mean it, I really mean it.

McCall's Birthday

Jeans-  TJ Maxx    T-shirt-  Old Navy  Jacket-  TJ Maxx  Sandals-  Steve Madden via Marshalls                                                 Watch- DKNY via Nordstrom Rack    Necklace-  gift from Mom and Dad when I was 8
There was a chill in the air today...I think Fall is here. Although I am still having a hard time letting go of summer...

It was this girls birthday today. I was privileged to take her to dinner...We had pizza bombs and pazooki!! I even sang to her all by myself. I'm sure she enjoyed that very much.

Nice face Brandi....

Then we watched  Bachelor Pad which we had recorded. I'm not sure if I should admit to watching it...but I kind of got into it at the end there. I tend to give my opinion of all that is happening during the whole show and McCall captured a bit of that. LOL. That's why I enjoy watching it with her though...because she's the same way.  We both agreed that the guy who won played the game well. It was quite dramatic!

Happy Birthday BFF McCall. Love you to pieces!!
