Print on Print

Today's Coast to Coast challenge was "Print on Print."

Jeans-Paige Denim    Shirt-Thrifted (The Loft)     Shoes-Target     Scarf-Thrifted

So...I mixed a little floral, a little polkadots, and a little leopard toned down with a dark wash jean.

All I have to say though....Everyone should own a pair of Paige Denim jeans... I own a couple pairs and they're seriously the MOST COMFORTABLE jeans I own. They fit on like a glove but don't squeeze your guts out! Must have in my book. Thats all....

Spring photo shoot with Ashley Madsen Photography

About a month ago I had to opportunity to see my best friend/cousin Ashley while she was visiting in Utah. She has her own photography company Ashley Madsen Photography.  I've been dying for her to take pictures for my blog. So we did a fun shoot and she finally sent me a few of them.... I'm ecstatic to share her talent!

Go check out her blog HERE

I seriously swoon over her work.

Thank you Ash! Love ya!

Girl Time

My best friend Ashley came into town and I got the chance to spend the entire day with her!! We explored a place we didn't know too well, shopped, had lunch at Red Lobster, and enjoyed the spring time....

This was my first time at the Giant Potato with butter and sour cream on top. hehe...

And of course...Here is what I wore....

Pants-Ross    Shirt-Anthropologie    Purse-Thrifted (Dooney and Bourke)     Loafers-Thrifted (Bass)
Glasses- Huntington Beach shop    Rings-Thrifted    Watch-DKNY via Nordstrom Rack

I wish my besties lived closer..... So grateful to have such wonderful friends.  Thanks for a super fun day Ashley....

Also just wanted to wish you all a wonderful Memorial Day. What a neat holiday to reflect and remember those who have passed on. Today I am thinking of my grandparents and all they did for me in my life. I miss them but I'm so happy to know they're together again.

A little Sunday Inspiration

"It’s so easy in life for us to receive blessings, many of them almost uncounted, and have things happen in our lives that can help change our lives, improve our lives, and bring the Spirit into our lives. But we sometimes take them for granted. How grateful we should be for the blessings that the gospel of Jesus Christ brings into our hearts and souls. I would remind all of you that if we’re ever going to show gratitude properly to our Heavenly Father, we should do it with all of our heart, might, mind, and strength—because it was He who gave us life and breath"-David B. Haight

I came to one of my favorite places today.

Have you ever felt that feeling where you just want to burst and cry? And not in a bad way.... Like in a way you feel so grateful for what you have and realize you're not showing more of that gratitude. Remembering times you've been better and stronger and more spiritual and wondering where that person went? somehow the beauty of spring, the faint smell of budding trees, green grass, the sound of birds chirping, and also the beauty of hymns sung and words spoken at church knocked me in the face today.  I couldn't help but cry! I missed my time in Brazil as a missionary. I miss that fire and conviction I had. Don't get me wrong, I still have a super strong testimony and love for Heavenly Father....I think I was mostly reminded of it because a recently returned missionary spoke and he seriously was raging with the Spirit. The last hymn we sang was one that in my last area in Brazil the members sang to say goodbye. "God be with you til we meet again." A flood of emotions came over me. I feel so blessed. I feel awake. I feel giddy. I feel Heavenly Fathers love for me which I have set to the side of me instead of in my heart in the recent past. I guess with these words my little Sunday inspiration would be to encourage you all to find a moment in your life to stop, listen, feel, and reflect. Look at what you have. Look who loves you. Look for that fire and conviction. I know that I don't need to be a missionary to have that again. Turn off the music when you drive in your car. Set down your phones for a minute (challenge for me haha) It's amazing what you'll see and feel.

"This Sabbath day has been designated as a day of thanksgiving, a day of gratitude—even a day of prayer. We pause, we ponder, we reflect on the blessings an all-wise Heavenly Father has bestowed upon us, His children, by bringing peace to the battlefield of war and comfort to the hearts of so many in this wonderful world where we live and which we call home" -Thomas S. Monson

Love You

Let me explain the reason behind the title of my post. As I was looking through these photos...I realized the hidden message on the wall behind me. And it made me smile. So I wanted to share so that you would notice it as well....and maybe smile...Smile knowing someone really does love you....

 Jacket-Thrifted (genuine leather)    Shirt-Anthro via DE    Jeans-H&M    Sandals-Melissa for F21    Glasses-San Diego beach shop     Hat-Thrifted (was brand new)   Bag-Madewell   Necklace-F21

So as you may or may not know...I have an instagram shop (@stylish_treasures) where I sell things from my closet as well as treasured finds (helps feed my thrift addiction....hehe) I had a lovely girl comment on a pair of cute J Crew shorts. Turns out she lives 30 minutes from me...So we decided to do a local exchange and while we were at it I offered to show her my favorite thrift spots!

So here is to introducing Megan.

 Pants-H&M   Shirt-J Crew         Shoes-Sperry     Glasses-RayBan     Belt- Target      Bag-Madewell

We clicked instantly and I became extremely grateful for the social media we have....Blogs, instagram....It can be addicting but obviously it has its perks. I made a cute new friend!

Make sure you check out her cute blog over at Home with the Uricks.

Windy Season

So Idaho has 4 seasons.... Winter, Winter, Windy, and Warmish. Right now we seem to be in the Windy season....
 Jeans-Thrifted (Gap)   Shirt-Anthropologie via DE    Jacket-Thrifted   Glasses-Huntington Beach
Boots- Thrifted vicariously through a friend    Bag-Madewell   Watch-DKNY via Nordstrom Rack

So these boots were purchased by a friend all the way over in Georgia. She sent a picture and said, "these look like something you'd like." and I said... "You're right, I love them!" I seriously do....

This lovely bag I sold a few of my vintage Coach bags that were sitting sadly in my closet to buy. And I couldn't be more happy with it. So simple and verstatile yet unique. I love the brown and black that will literally make it work for any color combo. P.S. I did buy it at a fraction of the original cost just FYI because as you know...I am a thrifty shopper no matter what the item is....
Lastly my shirt... I love the fun gold embellishment that adds a little zing to what would otherwise be a simple white tee....

This outfit is me to a "T".
