Palm Springs Adventures

From Anaheim we headed up to Palm Springs. A measly 116 degrees welcomed us there. We headed straight to one of our desired spots to visit: Salvation Mountain. It's an hour and a half from Palm Springs. It is literally right in the middle of no where. It was created by a man named Leonard Knight. He built it as a tribute to God and a gift to the world. It is fully made of adobe clay and donated paint. I love that the recurring theme of "LOVE" is very apparent. I wish it hadn't been so hot because we could only be outside for so long before we couldn't take it any longer haha. So worth the visit though.
After we left Salvation Mountain, we headed back to Palm Springs. The drive ran along the Salton Sea. The sun was going down but we wanted to check out the little town Bombay Beach. It is kinda a partially abandoned town. At one time I read it was a hopping place. But when the Salton Sea was contaminated terribly with farm irrigation water, it has become kinda a gross desolate place. The smell is almost unbearable but it has a solemn beauty to it. I didn't take too many photos but I was still very happy to see it.
We headed for our Airbnb after this which was a little outside of Palm Springs. Perfectly set in the rural desert. Maybe my favorite stay I've ever had. Here it is!
Yep! The coolest vintage airstream EVER! It was picturesque and the perfect way to spend our time in the deep desert. I'm going to do a tour post specifically for this airbnb because it was too good to not share. Gentri and I will be doing a giveaway for a two night stay too!!! Stay tuned for that.

The next day, we headed into Palm Springs. Gentri did some work at a cafe and I went thrifting! Afterwords, we met back up, had lunch, and visited Cabazon Dinosaur Park. It was closed but we still got photos outside.
We ended our day doing a little more shopping on the main street in Palm Springs and getting milk shakes at Great Shakes. It is a MUST stop in Palm Springs.
Despite the mega heat there...We LOVED Palm Springs and had a blast. California roadtrip to be continued....

xoxo
