A Holiday Look in Heels

I'm wearing heels!! I know this doesn't happen often. Let me tell you why I don't often wear them. This is not uncommon...But my right foot is about 1/2 size smaller than my left. So I tend to cater to my left foot. It doesn't like being squeezed into small shoes. So my righty always gets to be nice and roomy. For this reason, most heels don't work because my heel slips out on the right side. Travis J Photography (who is the brilliance behind these photos) suggested I put a little insert in the back of the right shoe. Um...am I such a dummy? Why didn't I ever think of that? Because I'm about as domesticated as they come. (hint of sarcasm.) I need to fix that I know...haha. Thanks Travis for being better at this fashion thing than I am!!
Now lets talk about these heels. They're vintage. My "vintage" knowledge tells me they're circa 1950 maybe 1960's. I found these lovelies at a thrift store and I'm not kidding...they didn't have an ounce of wear on them. I assume a pretty stylish woman bought them with good intentions....But they ended up sitting in the back of her closet, still in the box, where they sat until the day she died. (Sad thought. I'm sorry to have said it that way but the older vintage items usually don't leave their previous owners until someone forces them out of the house. And that usually means when they die.) They're the only pair of legit heels I own and I feel like they're the kind of heels I want to own. So classy and unique. I just love vintage for its one of a kind uniqueness. So thank you classy lady with most likely a lot of shoes...too many to have even had time to wear these ones. Thanks for saving them for me.

Happy Holidays friends.

Beijos!!

  2. Love how this look is slightly edgy with the leather but girly with the skirt - and the heels are perfect for it.

    1. I love thrifting for so many reasons. Affordability, finding good brands and good quality items, and I feel it gives back to the community in a good way. A lot of thrift stores donate in some way...Plus you're recycling in a sort of way. I hope you'll give it a try!!
