A little Sunday Inspiration

"It’s so easy in life for us to receive blessings, many of them almost uncounted, and have things happen in our lives that can help change our lives, improve our lives, and bring the Spirit into our lives. But we sometimes take them for granted. How grateful we should be for the blessings that the gospel of Jesus Christ brings into our hearts and souls. I would remind all of you that if we’re ever going to show gratitude properly to our Heavenly Father, we should do it with all of our heart, might, mind, and strength—because it was He who gave us life and breath"-David B. Haight

I came to one of my favorite places today.

Have you ever felt that feeling where you just want to burst and cry? And not in a bad way.... Like in a way you feel so grateful for what you have and realize you're not showing more of that gratitude. Remembering times you've been better and stronger and more spiritual and wondering where that person went? somehow the beauty of spring, the faint smell of budding trees, green grass, the sound of birds chirping, and also the beauty of hymns sung and words spoken at church knocked me in the face today.  I couldn't help but cry! I missed my time in Brazil as a missionary. I miss that fire and conviction I had. Don't get me wrong, I still have a super strong testimony and love for Heavenly Father....I think I was mostly reminded of it because a recently returned missionary spoke and he seriously was raging with the Spirit. The last hymn we sang was one that in my last area in Brazil the members sang to say goodbye. "God be with you til we meet again." A flood of emotions came over me. I feel so blessed. I feel awake. I feel giddy. I feel Heavenly Fathers love for me which I have set to the side of me instead of in my heart in the recent past. I guess with these words my little Sunday inspiration would be to encourage you all to find a moment in your life to stop, listen, feel, and reflect. Look at what you have. Look who loves you. Look for that fire and conviction. I know that I don't need to be a missionary to have that again. Turn off the music when you drive in your car. Set down your phones for a minute (challenge for me haha) It's amazing what you'll see and feel.

"This Sabbath day has been designated as a day of thanksgiving, a day of gratitude—even a day of prayer. We pause, we ponder, we reflect on the blessings an all-wise Heavenly Father has bestowed upon us, His children, by bringing peace to the battlefield of war and comfort to the hearts of so many in this wonderful world where we live and which we call home" -Thomas S. Monson

  2. This post was filled with all sorts of beautiful. I loved both of the quotes, and the feelings you shared were inspiring! I teach the 16-17 year olds and last Sunday's lesson was on how reverence and pondering helps with revelation and how important it is in our lives...so your words hit home with me. xo
