Stylish Treasures: Fall Edition

I have a whole handful of Fall/Winter friendly items on my instagram shop @stylish_treasures!!

Here are a few I just added today:
I had to nickname this one "The Goddess." It is the mother of all vintage coats. Beautiful fur collar, black and white detail with all the buttons intact.
This one comes in close second, almost first to the previous jacket. Another vintage beauty. Lovely green color with a brown fur collar. This one may just stay in my winter wardrobe. Hate when this happens to me. hehe.
Another vintage "made in USA" coat. Gorgeous red color. In amazing condition. Warm and eye catching.
I wore this several times last year. Such a fun plaid detail. Great colors. Perfect for Fall/Winter.

There is so much more so search @stylish_treasures on instagram and I do everything safely through paypal.

Sunday Inspiration

Sweater is Loft from a thrift store, Wood Keeps Necklace, Madewell Necklace.

////////////////////////////////////////////////

As you may know by now, I love finding inspiration in scriptures and quotes. I came across a few today that I found so much comfort in and hope they can help you too....

"I recognize that, on occasion, some of our most fervent prayers may seem to go unanswered. We wonder, "why?" I know that feeling! I know the fears and tears of such moments. But I also know that our prayers are never ignored. Our faith is never unappreciated. I know that an all-wise Heavenly Father's perspective is much broader that is ours. While we know of our mortal problems and pain, He knows of our immortal progress and potential. If we pray to know His will and submit ourselves to it with patience and courage, heavenly healing can take place in His own way and time." --Russell M. Nelson
I really love this quote so much. I think every single one of us has felt abandoned or alone in our lives at some point. But this is so comforting to think that we have to remember the Lords perspective is way bigger than ours. Patience is not an easy thing. And as it says here....If we are patient and have courage in THE LORDS time heavenly healing can take place. I don't know about you, but I don't believe there could be anything better than heavenly healing. It is a healing that can go straight to the soul. And with His help it can last. Don't give up. Don't lose faith.

"And if men come unto me I will show unto them their weakness. I give unto men weakness that they may be humble; and my grace is sufficient for all men that humble themselves before me; for if they humble themselves before me, and have faith in me, then will I make weak things become strong unto them."  --Ether 12:27
Pride can be so difficult and strong. I love the promise in this scripture that if we let go of that pride and humble ourselves...The Lord will bless us with the strength we need.

The last quote kinda brings these three together.

"To any who may be struggling to see that light and find that hope, I say: Hold on. Keep trying. God loves you. Things will improve. Christ comes to you in His 'more excellent ministry' with a future of 'better promises.' He is your 'high priest of good things to come.'"--Jeffrey R. Holland
He does love you. I know that with all my heart.

What are some of your own interpretations of these quotes/scriptures? What touched your heart? Or what has inspired you lately? I would love your to hear your thoughts....

Happy Sunday!

Life Lately

Time has been so good to me the past few weeks...Here are a few photos of what's been happenin...
This guy right here is quite wonderful. This past Saturday he and I ran the Haunted Half Marathon in Salt Lake! We've been running all summer and decided it would be fun to have something to work toward at the end of the "good weather seasons." We both were both pleased with our times. I finished 13 minutes faster than the American Fork Canyon Half I did in June this summer...I am happy with my progress and hope to be able to keep it up during the cold months!
Salt Lake does Fall really well! It has been absolutely gorgeous. The colors and the weather have not disappointed.
I have been wanting one of these bags for month!! I was lucky enough to meet up with Sarah, the owner and designer of Anne B. I got to choose each detail of my bag and got to wait in anticipation as it was handmade especially for me. I watched her put the finishing touches on this one..hehe.. US made and best of all Anne B employs local refugees here in Salt Lake City. I feel so privilaged to know Sarah and see what hard work goes into her business. She is very well deserving. I hope you'll check out her website and I can't wait to style this beauty!!
I was lucky enough to win one of her cosmetic bags which fits nicely in my purse and goes with me everywhere. I loved the fabric so much that's what I decided to go with on my cross body bag as well. Swoon!!
Just trying to stay cozy as the weather turns...

///////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

Let's just finish with a little "style flash"
Karla and I checked out the new Uptown Cheapskate in Sugar House and found ourselves some treasures! It's a resell shop/consignment shop with lots of name brands! I purchased this fun sweater among other fun items.
I've been wanting a fun, dainty, everyday necklace to wear with my longer ones and finally found this one from Wood Keeps. This one is called "She's a lady" and I added a little gold ring. This is another company I am beyond pleased with their mission. They strive to produce the best quality but with the lowest possible impact to the earth. All their products are crafted using reclaimed and re-purposed woods. They search for lumber with a history (which is my favorite part as you know I love vintage for that reason..) I also love that what they use allows them to have no waste in the furniture fabrication as they use the cut-offs and overshoots as keepsakes! Check out all their amazing items on their website HERE.
I got these Asic tennies on Karla and I's excursion to Uptown Cheapskate. I have to hold myself off from wanting to go back! hehe.
My love for Lotta comes along with me in the cooler months. :)
Vintage sweater for $5! woot woot.
Andd.....thats all folks! Thanks for following along!

Live the Little Things//October 5

It has been too long since I've shared some photos from the #livethelittlethings hashtag on instagram. I explained about this HERE to give you an idea of what this is.

Not only is it my birthday month but we are coming up on the one year mark since my friend Meg and I started the hashtag project! Crazy to see how far it has come! There are now almost 40,000 photos shared. So inspiring to see how others have taken the challenge to slow down and notice the little things in their lives. Be grateful for every moment. Even the small moments we often overlook.

Life Lately

I have been really "good" busy lately. Filling my life with everything I want it to be full of. Fashion, friends, faith, family, and any other good word that starts with "F" and other letters too. Good words peeps.

Some recent thrift finds! I can't stop listening to this vinyl record. Serious feel good music. This faux fur vest from Gap looked unworn and found just in time to be worn alllll through the colder seasons. My friend Karla actually found me these vintage Cole Haan loafers. The first day I wore them I had several different ladies as me where they were from. It's always fun to say they were found at a thrift store. hehe.
This coming weekend we are preparing for General Conference which is one of my favorite times of the Fall. It's usually the weekend before my birthday which makes my birthday the best EVER! So this past weekend was the General Relief Society meeting and oh it was just so good. The theme and focus seemed to be around temples and how we can be better prepared and worthy. You can watch it HERE if you missed it. It is worth every second to watch.
These were a couple of my favorite quotes among many that I loved.
Training for a half marathon October 18th! Any good music selection ideas to add to my playlist I'm all ears!

Grandma and Grandpa's house sold.  It is a blessing for sure but was definitely bitter sweet for me. They lived here over 30 years which means my whole 28 years knew this special place as theirs and only theirs. I played and have memories around every nook and corner of this place. I cried in learning it sold even though it such a blessing. I came back one more time to walk through and reminisce of all the wonderful times I had there. It still had its same smells. It was hard for me. It was hard for them to leave even though we all know it was what was best for them. Now I'll just have to lock those memories tight inside. Change is hard sometimes and I definitely felt that this week.
I've been living in these sweats from Madewell all week. I love a pant that you can wear that maybe don't look like sweats but they are...haha. hahahah. Oh gotta love my need for comfort.
I've been trying to eat better. It's not easy. Cuz I love food. And Chic-fil-A...I swear I could eat it every day...And sometimes I do! But the farmers market has been a hit for me lately. Fresh Utah grown amazing peaches have been my go to.  So for breakfast with vanilla yogurt and a tiny tiny bit of granola to add some crunch. YUMMM.
Karla and I headed down to Orem the other day to try out a new restaurant called Aubergine and Co. I am officially obsessed. Having served a mission in Brazil, I fell in love with their food. This restaurant is staffed with numerous Brazilian people and had several items I ate while I was in Brazil! Acai and pao de queijo...I died and went to heaven.
We ordered their chopped salads for lunch. Mine was a create your own so I went with my lettuce of choice which is spinach, topped with almonds, quinoa, carrots, mozzarella cheese, and edamame. They chop it up nicely and mix it in a light dressing of your choice. It was absolutely delicious!! Filling in a good way and so full of things I SHOULD eat. They also have sandwiches on the menu and so many other options of salads and healthy foods. They're vegan and gluten friendly. I was able to practice my Portuguese a little with the staff. I was so impressed and feel like I found my new favorite place in Utah!
I remember the first time I ever tried pao de queijo (cheese bread). In my first area on my mission, my companion and I got off the bus to head to our house and she stopped at a little stand and purchased a little bag of pao de queijo for us. And she said just that. "This is pao de queijo." My life was never the same after that for so many reasons. Revisiting the tastes I remembered and missed so well made me happy as can be. Karla enjoyed trying it very much as well.
To add the perfect cherry on top was this bowl of goodness. One of my top 3 favorite things I ever ate in Brazil. ACAI!!! If you've never tried it, please go to Aubergine and get one of their Traditional Acai Bowls. That's what I have here. This is exactly how we ate it in Brazil. A little granola with banana, blueberries, and strawberries. It turns my mouth a perfect shade of purple and made my tastebuds explode with pleasure. My mouth is watering just thinking about it. I need to go back asap haha.
It's October and that crisp air you can't help but love is here. For me that means I bring out all my big comfy sweaters and scarves. Speaking of scarves:
I have been consistently listing items for sale on my instagram shop @stylish_treasures. The scarf above sold in literally 3 minutes but there are still some available like the one below. They go fast! I have so many fun goodies for the upcoming season so if you have instagram, make sure you check it out.
